March Madness

Hello, my dear friends! Long time no “see” here on the blog, my apologies for the long gap. It has been an absolute crazy week and half in the past, we had a snow / icy rain situation that threw us back to December weather! The kids had to stay home two days, so I spent more time chasing the little tails than sitting down to write this post. That is a quick recap of my week and the reason for “March Madness”, nothing basketball-related, sorry folks. ;D

Spring or fall, there is always a few days with irrational weather, that is the time we dress creatively, layering up pieces from different seasons to make them work for our needs to stay warm/cold and stylish. Today’s look is a good example of mixing winter with spring.

As you can see, I doubled up jackets, a chunky knit bomber over a leather biker jacket. Usually leather jackets are outerwear, which means they go on the outside, but with a tailored fit, it makes great sense to wear them underneath another big coat or jacket. I’ve seen them worn under wool coats, even oversized blazers, so why not under a big knit? The fact that this bomber is pink make it even more sensible for spring time.

For this season, pairing knits with skirts is another style trend I began to notice and grew fond of. When our coats and jackets are getting increasingly masculine, mini skirts offer great balance of feminine. My favorite kind is either glossy or denim one with some details. The best way to dress these babies up or down is pairing with knits for a fuzzy-sleek contrast, as well as perfect way to stay warm during early spring. If you are looking for a good mini skirt to add this season, I listed a few of my current favorites on the Shopping page.

Spring 2017 is also about mixing shades of pink and red, I did a little bit of that today with accessories. Coming up in the near future, I will be showing you more ways to mix them in outfits.

Last but not least, I’ve been getting lots of inquires about these boots, mostly can-you-walk-in-these sort. They are the best boots I’ve own for both style and comfort! Not only I get a good boost in height, I could walk and stand in them for extended periods of time because of the arch drop is actually not too high. They have an inevitable edginess of course, so they are perfect with denim, leather and sweats which are all the rage these days. Just like the mini skirt, I picked a few pairs of these boots and put them on my shopping page. Not the inexpensive kind, but I believe they are good investments for you to enjoy for quite a few years.

Thank you so much for reading! It feels good to catch up on trends and things, hope you like the read, too! We will be doing more trend analysis in the next few post, see you soon!
