Hello, my friend! How are we doing with the 30-day challenge? I hope you’ve enjoyed the makeup video a couple of days ago, maybe trying some on your own. I don’t anyone is born a makeup expert, but practice does make it better. ๐Ÿ™‚ My first makeup lesson was from a guy at the MAC boutique, he taught me a few very important techniques which I shared with you in the video.

In the exercise front, we are onto week 3! Below is the ab challenge homework for the coming week, you should be doing 75 sit ups now if you are on target. I am at 65, one day short. It might sound daunting to do that many sit ups in one sitting but in reality, it was short and somewhat fun. My boys found it very amusing that mommy works out at home, so they took turns sitting on my feet and count the numbers for me. No. 2ย tends to skip certain numbers, by the time he gets to 30, I was only at 25. ๐Ÿ˜€ab-challenge3

ย Episode 6: Snack Healthy

Even with all the exercise I’ve done, I didn’t loose much weight but my clothes do fit better now than two weeks ago. There is a common misbelieve about fitness, although it is nice to drop the unwanted pounds, it is not the necessary outcome of a good fitness routine. In some cases, the body “exchange” fat with more muscle mass, one ends up with heavier weight but overall slimmer looking body. ๐Ÿ™‚

Many fitness tips for build a leaner body will advise higher protein and low to no carb intake. As a frequent snacker, I try to eat high-protein and low carb snacks. Some of my favorites are smoothies, protein bars and this five spice edamame. Since it has no sugar, it is probably the healthiest of them. ๐Ÿ™‚

Five Spice Edamame
Ingredients:
– 1 lbs of frozen organic edamame beans with pods
– 1/3 stick of cinnamon
– 1~2 star anise seed
– 2 pieces of clove
– 1 whole bay leaf
– sea salt for seasoning

Bring a pot of water to boil, put in the spices and the edamame, bring the mixture back to a boil and turn it down to medium high heat. Let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until the beans are tender. Season with salt to taste, simmer for a few more minutes. Drain the water. The pods can be served warm or cold, taste equally delicious.
