Hello, my dear friends! Greeting from New York City! We left super early in the morning to beat the traffic, so today’s outfit was photographed before-hand. With the weather been so pleasantly warm, this would have been perfect for today anyway.
It is probably not so subtle where I draw inspiration of this outfit, yes, you got it, the 70’s. Besides the big flare, actually, bigger flare than all the others I’ve worn, the key character of today’s look is floral. I was attracted to the floral embroidery insert of the jeans, and it did not disappoint. The flowers are done nicely, they even spread to the waist and one of the back pockets.
The top came to my attention later and immediately upon seeing it, I thought, what a perfect match! The balloon sleeves, pin-tuck detailing and small scale floral prints, are all nods to the 70’s. The material is delicate, at the same time, a bit too breathe for fall weather, however. I layered with a tissue-thin wool turtleneck, which is my favorite everyday item this season, now the look is both fashionable and functional for the colder days.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope today’s outfit has inspired you to experiment with layering summer clothes for fall. Please feel free to ask questions in the comment section below. See you in my next post!
