Happy Mother’s Day, my friends! I hope you had a wonderful day celebrating with loved one(s)! This is the day when the whole world turns its spot light on mothers, celebrating them, signing praises. Children got busy making cute cards, florists work over to fulfill all the extra orders, and jewelers are having a field day…While that is all very enjoyable and necessary, today is also a day I am most acutely aware that I am a mother.
Being a mother is my most challenging role so far, and it will continue to be for the near future. Ever since I assume the position, I sense great responsibility — someone’s well being is on me, which is a lot if one wants to do a good job and you know I do, giving my competitive type A personality. At the same time, I feel so humbled because all of a sudden, I discover there are so many things I have so little control of. Raising my children is a growing-up process for me as well. I learn to accept, compromise and let go, I also learn to persist, protect and persevere. There is frequent check and balance, especially on a day like today.
My outfit today resembles my overall philosophy towards parenting: soft (pink) but structured (coat), mature (navy) but fun (polka dots & ruffles). I think I can get away with the same pink coat when my kids graduating from collage, what do you think? At least that was one of the reasons I used to persuade myself to buy the coat. 😀
Thank you so much for reading! Would love to hear your thoughts. Until my next post!
