Hello, my friends! Who is enjoying this sunny but chilly weather? When it is mild like today, a shorter coat / heavy sweater seems to be a good break from all the long coats we’ve been wrapping ourselves with. 🙂
The faux fur pull-over I had on was ordered last summer through Moda Operandi (a great place to shop for the future, btw), but I had been chasing other fall / winter trends and left it on the hanger until just now. The truth is, this pull-over is not as practical as a jacket because you can’t just take it off, but for a slightly chill day spend outside, it is ideal.
One other challenge with this top is its bulky shape and hip-length, not the most complimentary combination. Had it being a few inches longer, I would pair it with skinny jeans or leather leggings, but with the current length, I will only look like Popeye. ;D My answer to the challenge is wider bottoms.
Noticed that I said “wider” not “bigger”? The skirt I chose has such design that the front view is expansive while from the side, it looks much slender. I remember when I first saw it on the runway, I was deeply impressed by how genius this design was, a full skirt effect without the actual bulkiness of a full skirt!
Because both top and bottom are on the wider side, I decided to keep the rest of my profile slim, so I had on a riding hat and leg-hugging boots. If I were to pair it with flare jeans or wide-leg pants, I probably will go with a wool fedora instead.
A long post today but I thought you might find this funny: three years ago, I bought a faux fur short coat and paired with flare denim and some chunky heels. It was too 70’s according to some but guess what, the 70’s is coming back, big time! ;D
Thank you so much for reading! Until my next post!
