Hello, my dear friends! First week in May, the weather is in such mood swing that often, I am confused as to what to wear, so the safest bet is to have lightweight clothes and layer them up! Today was a warm rainy day, so I wore a short-sleeve top with super lightweight pants, and I had with me a trench coat which was not photographed but readily available when I need extra warmth (and protect my bag from the rain). 😀
The look today is all about making an ordinary look not so ordinary. Flare top with cropped pants, yeah, that is original (or not); grid print, yarn fest; even the loafers sounds dreary if they are just plain…but when you have all three elements in one look, the visual is fresh.
If you have been following me for a while, you’d know my love for repeating prints. To me, prints like the stripes, polka dots, stars, even gingham, are really not prints but different forms of solid colors that you can mix-match based on colors and shape. By repeating the same print in almost the same color, this whole look is polish & stylish, from office to brunch, you can rock it all the way!
Besides the print repetition, my choice of accessories is also aimed at elevating the overall style. embellished loafers, studded trunk bag, stacking of dainty rings, even the sunglasses, are all glamorous but in a subtle way. Even with all of them, the whole look is still office-appropriate, so one can still rock it from work to brunch. ^^
The top I’m wearing was from last year, at the time, I paired with a navy flouncy skirt and white pumps. When I saw these grid print slim pants, I knew I’d have another fun outfit. The same designer has more great grit print designs this year, I also found a few others (most of them well under $100) for you to play with this off-the-grid grid print style:[show_lookbook_widget id=”281152″]
Thank you so much for reading! See you in my next post!
