Fall Layers :: Lace, Floral & Ruffels

Hello, my friends! Faster than I could switch out shirts for sweaters, the temperature dropped half, then it bounced back only to drop again the next day. Early fall weather is quite unpredictable, instead of get busy swapping closets, it is the perfect time for practice layering and extend the use of summer pieces.

Outfit today is the result of such “procrastinating” — this floral scrappy top I got late in the summer is too pretty to put away, so I layered a high neck lace top underneath and wore the oversized floral piece as a mini dress. It worked out beautifully for slightly chill but still very sunny weather we’ve been having. In the early morning and late evening, I’d wear a coat or jacket for extra warmth.5s6a9013 5s6a9069 5s6a9120 5s6a9160

For both tops are very feminine and delicate, I want to inject some edge with footwear. My choice was a pair of pointy loafers that are very simple and modern. White accessories are huge this fall/winter, by the way, the new definition of winter white is no long about garments, it is more about white shoes and bags. Check my Shopping page for some of my current favorite white pieces.5s6a91925s6a9112

If you are concerned about too much skin exposure, either layer with a pair of cropped pants or wearing over-the-knee boots would help with the visual balance. For the latter, I’d recommend fabric ones since it is still quite warm outside.5s6a9090

Thank you so much for reading! Fall layering can be lots of fun, get creative and think outside of the box. Would love to hear what you come up with, let me know in the comment section below. See you in my next post!
