Hello, my dear friends, greetings from Vegas! While I am “slacking” again on blogging due to yet another trip, I’ve been busy sharing outfits on Instagram <@petiteflowerpresents>, and now activities on Snapchat , please feel free to follow me on those social media platforms if you would like to get more frequent updates. ^^
Today’s outfit is all about playfulness, mixing of two most old school patterns (gingham and polkadot) but in today’s shihouette (off shoulder, big sleeves and bows). As a combination, they create an outfit that is elegant and romantic, perfect for dinner and parties while on one of those warm nights.
If the big bubbly sleeves is what catches your eye, look no further than Australian designer Johanna Ortiz. Her signature is these playful yet ultra feminine designs that accentuate a woman’s natural curves. Don’t like the pencil skirt? The same type blouse works wonders with skinny pants, wide-leg pants, maxi skirt…you can see plenty of styling examples here. The secret is, a top that establishes the impression of a broad shoulder and slim waist, will always work with bottoms that can complete a hourglass look.
It was practically summer when I wore this outfit during our last vacation on the island, I accessorized with a big customized sun hat and a straw cat-faced handbag for that extra playfulness as well as island vibes. Any small handbags would work well with this look, and you can pick the style and material to go with whatever mood you want to set for the occasion.
Chanel just did it again with these two-tone sling-back pumps. Visually, they extend any legs to make them seem longer, wear-wise, the block heel and slightly stretchable toe (made of black grosgrain ribbon) makes them very easy on the feet for extended wear. These heels are so retro and in a strange way, they are super today. I’ve seem them paired with almost anything in the past few months by fashionistas across the globe, which lead me to believe that similar but much affordable versions will be on the market soon enough.
Thank you so much for reading! See you in my next post!
