Hello there! After a couple of no-school snow days, today felt like a Monday to me. 🙂 Catching up with work and of course, holiday preparations. I think I got a little ambitious this year, taking on DIY holiday cards. In the next few days, you will find me working as hard as an elf in the basement, ink, stamp, ink, stamp…
Those of you who have real offices and colleagues, this might be the time you would have frequent invitations to holiday lunches and happy hours. Who would go home, change to cocktail attire before head out to a happy hour? The ones raised hands, no offense, you must be single. ;D It is quite appropriate, actually, necessary, to add a little dazzle to one’s look, for such occasion. My #1 trick is to add something shinny, a sequin top, a pair of glitter pump, mega shine earrings, or simply more dramatic makeup.
To put my theory to test, I wore an embellished sweater (very holiday-friendly, btw) and quilted motorcycle skirt to a house party this past weekend, straight from running some errands. The only thing happened in between was two hearty swipe of black eye shadow and a fresh coat of lip stick. Needless to say, I looked a little bit, eh, dramatic for a family-friendly house party (hint: lots of kids), but you get the idea. 😀 Oh, I switched to a smaller bag as well, which I tucked in my day bag earlier.
Thank you very much for reading! Wish you a safe and cheerful holiday season! Until my next post!
