TGIF, my friends! Another weekend approaching, another week closer to Christmas! 🙂 Many agree, December is one of the most exciting months of the year because of the holidays + year end. People get into the good sprits of appreciating each other’s company, acts of kindness, and the art of giving. Our calendars are filled with events and agendas, good and fun. This year, for the first time, I am going to take my boy to a soup kitchen to help making & serving wonton soup. It will be a memorable experience for him, and something to repeat in the years ahead, I hope.
There are other adult-only parties going on: annual holiday dinner & gift exchange with my dearest girlfriends, a holiday bazar for mommy entrepreneurs, cocktail hours and gatherings…all require some kind of dressing up ranging from business formal to evening attire. As promised, I want to share my looks for these events beforehand, in this mini ‘Holly Holiday’ series. 🙂 The first look is: White-Haute.
This look is intended for dinner with my girls. Like me, some of us don’t have an office job so this is our chance to dress up fancy. Most opt for a sexy cocktail look and my preferred way to show skin is open back or one-shoulder. The same dress I worn to a reception before, but with different accessories. This time, I paired with black and gold accessories for a more formal occasion.
Something has to be said about these ankle strap pumps. They are 100% party-ready! The golden elastic straps give a classic style a glamorous twist, making these heels stand out wherever you are. When at parties, sometimes we need a little conversation starter, statement jewelry / shoe / bag, is always a good place to go with the ladies. This black & gold color combo suites most outfits, when necessary, the golden straps can be ‘hidden” nicely under jeans and long pants for an every day look.
My favorite jewelry to pair with one-shoulder dress is choker necklace. For this outfit, I went with an open-end one lined by tiny white pearls. Skinner collar necklace would be a good alternative (see my suggested ones below), or some colorful statement necklaces depends on the other accessories you pick. Because I have on multiple golden pieces (bracelet, bag, heels), I kept the design simple and cohesive (sleek collar-style throughout).
I hope you like this look and inspired to create your own white look. 🙂 Coming up next: Rouge-Glam.
Thank you so much for reading! Until my next post!
