Hello, dear friends! How was your week? Got most of the holiday shopping out of the way? How about a year-end treat for yourself? If you are short on ideas, here is my last post on what to get for a fashionista that sure will please. I have been a social butterfly this week, flapping my fashion wings (or more like, dressing up) a lot. You probably have seen my party outfits on Instagram, but today on the blog, we will focus on an everyday look that incorporates several trends that will stand the test of time.
Some get put off by the word “trend”, associating it with flashy, short-lived and bad investment. The truth is, everything we wear, was once a trend and it might very well come back in fashion some point down the road. The reason we are still wearing them even when they are not on trend, is probably because they 1)make us look good; and 2)feel good to wear, and those are the rules to go by to select “trendy” items each season that will essentially form our individual style.
The outfit I have on in today’s post, are mostly trendy items: chunky knits, culottes, sock boots, even round sunglasses. I am fairly positive that each one of them will last me a few seasons because they fit in the criteria above. They are also of neutral colors (ivory and khaki), and uncomplicated (knit turtleneck & cargo pants), so in future seasons, they can be easily paired with new trendy items, or even with items from the past to stay fresh and interesting.
Thank you so much for reading! Let me know in the comments below what’s your thought on trend. See you in my next post!
