Howdy! Aren’t you glad it is almost weekend? I remember the first time I was invited to an office happy hour at neighboring town, I was so thrilled but I got totally lost trying to find the bar! 😀 Now I call this town home and I can find places with my eyes shut.
Our town has a pretty active art community and they came up with a 10-year master plan for public art, how cool is that?! I don’t have even a five-year master plan for my life, hehe. Somewhere and somehow, we got involved, so tonight, we were invited to iPAR‘s annual silent auction.
A girl always seize an opportunity to dress up — that is what I did. Considering we live a small town full of laid-back retirees, designer couture is definitely not required. 😀 But we were going to hang out with the art crowd, right? So I decided something organic and homemade would be appropriate. What I did was weaving two silk scarves and one strand of pearls into a chocker necklace. I picked two shades of blue that would echo the ikat prints on my shoes, but for your own practice, any complimenting color will work just fine. To make longer necklace, you can use larger / longer scarves and single strand of pearl.
Without further a due, here is the step-by-step of how to make a scarf necklace, followed by a few IRL photos. Please forgive the awful quality of smart phone photos, I am still holding my breath for Apple to come up with a good low-light phone camera. ;D
Thank you very much for reading! See you in a couple of days!
