L.A. Confidential :: Python Separates & Rock Studs

Hi my dear friends! I am back, physically, to this cold, rainy East Coast town I call home, but my mind is still filled with California sunshine. 🙂 In the next few posts, I will share with you outfits I worn during my trip west.  Some still wearable around this time of the year, like the one today, some might have to wait until winter break to see the day light again. 😀

My impression of Rodeo Drive was not the most favorable, thanks to the movie “Pretty Woman”, so I skipped the whole Beverly Hills area last time I was in LA. Now I am a bona fide fashionista, it is my undeniable duty to pay homage to one of America’s most fashionable streets, not to mention the opportunity of reality TV celebrity siting, RHBH, any one? 5S6A9827

In the movie “Legally Blond II”, there was a scene at the beginning:  Elle Wood dressed in all bright pink, puppy in tote, marching up the Capitol steps against a sea of black suits. If that were the West Coast impression of capital style, I thought to myself, it is about time to returned the favor. ;D So, I, a DC style blogger, done a vibrant python print “suite” and some shinny heels, marched on the sidewalks of Rodeo Drive, in broad daylight.5S6A98705S6A98825S6A9908 5S6A9843

The effect, as you might have visioned, was quite astonishing. There were tourists taking my photos as I was posing for my own camera, especially when I leaned against this super fancy car parked outside of a man’s wear boutique, and when I stood beneath the road sign. “She dresses so outrageously…she must be a celebrity…let’s take a picture!” I could almost hear them in their heads.5S6A9822 5S6A9961

Good news was, no sales associate asked me to leave the store after I stepped in. I guess I was wearing the right shoes. 😀5S6A9985 5S6A0038

A big “Thank You” to my friend E for taking all the photos, you are the best!

Thank you so much for reading! See you in my next post!

You look stunning. The dress makes you look a little bit fuller, but perfect on you IMO.

Thank you, Danxuan! Sometimes prints and pattern can disguise but sometimes they exaggerate, I think in this case it is the latter and I am pretty happy with it as well. 🙂

DC people are much better dressed than those in west coast, even dressier than new Yorkers I believe.
Your style sometimes is bit bold for daily life , especially for office cube, but I love your adventure, which sometimes offer great inspiration to my boring outfit.
Btw, you look really tall than you actually are.

Hi Robin! DC dress code is definitely much different than LA, even the vibe is totally different. We are more on the conservative, but as you’ve said, dressier, side.

I am glad that you riding along with me on my fashion adventure, you bet I don’t look quite the same for office, either. I got the “you look so tall” feedback at lot, I guess my proportion projects well in camera.;D

Oh wow, I was browsing NW just a couple of days ago and spotted this outfit. I purchased them, thinking that I can always return if they are too loud. They look great on you! I hope they will do the same wonder on me! 🙂 Good price too, great find! Yes, right shoes indeed~~~

Oh cool! Make sure you share a pic with me when you try them on! The material is quite comfortable and the fit is very nice, they don’t even wrinkle, that is a bonus. 🙂

Wow, you do look tall, why you call youself petite:) is the shoe comfortable? It’s hard for me to find a comfortable high heel shoe, I just bought 2 from Tory bouch, they are beautiful, but I can only walk on them for about 10 minutes. I think your style is a bit bold for daily life too, can you share us more office look? Have a nice weekend.

Well, my physical height is at the top end of petite, but that is not why my blog is called “Petite Flower Presents”. Petite Flower is a literal translation of my Chinese nickname “小花”, it is be used among Chinese friends before I started the blog.

My looks keep on changing, some dressier than others. There will be more causal looks in the coming weeks so I hope that would give you some office look inspiration. 🙂
