Hello, my dear friends! It is just me or some of you have begun to feel the holiday stress? Yesterday, for the first time this year, I had to write down an outfit plan for December, what to wear & when! There are just so much going on before the year is over, parties, gatherings, fairs and trips. When it comes to getting dressed during the holidays, I don’t want to be totally spontaneous like usual this time around. Instead of a “BTW, this is what I wore to…”, I want to start my entries with “this is what I am going to wear to…” so you will have time to create your own if my outfits inspire you. 🙂
In the other days, I probably will be in jeans and sweats, a lot. That have said, jeans and sweats can be glam! Have you seen sequined jeans like this and embellished sweatshirts like that? The variety of denim is no longer defined by wash and shape alone. This winter, my go-to denim is either distressed or biker style with a pattern.
My affection towards patterned denim is well-documented, you’ve seen me worn baroque ones here and stripe ones here, today’s is checkered and I’ve also acquired a pair with python print. Personally, I think patterned denim adds good visual interest to an outfit, and the rest of the outfit can play alone.
My first pairing is focused on mixing patterns. As I’ve talked about in this post, geometrical patterns compliment each other most of the time. Although leopard is not strictly geometrical, the way this clutch is done resembles a lot with polka dots.
The second look is a more-is-more one. Because of the dark colors and relaxed shape of the bomber jacket, I felt it was safe to pair it with the checkered jeans without competing too much. Instead of using the leopard accessories again, which is too much for this outfit, and changed to my black fringe bucket bag. It is more subdued yet strong enough to stand up to those fierce boots ^^
Thank you so much for reading! Until my next post!
