Hello, my friends! For the past week, I have been busy shopping the sale of sales. This week is probably the last week when most major department stores and online luxury retail (& here & here) emptying their spring / summer merchandise, so if there aresome pieces you really love from SS16 (and still avail.), this is the time to get them. That have said, I don’t recommend buying (almost) past season items unless they are the classics, or you know they are still going strong or going to be trendy in the next couple of seasons.
Today’s outfit answers to some of this fall’s trends such as mesh, block heels and big ruffles. The overall silhouette is, however, quite classic with collared shirt and midi pencil skirt. Mesh fabric, embroideries on denim and cascading ruffles, are the chic updates. Fun and practical, it is a look I’d wear to office, towards the end of the week, or to lunch with friends.
The market might be saturated with big ruffles by now, but the good ones are still worth having. The skirt I am wearing is currently on super sale, at about 80% off, which is a steal consider the fabric and great tailoring. It pairs well with turtlenecks, chunky knits, tops with ruffles.
How do you like the mesh top? I think you will begin to see more and more mesh layering this season and next. For it is still summer, I layered with a lace cami which has the same burgundy color of the boots. Later on, the same top would be worn with long-sleeve shirts and plain knits when it cools down. I’ve bought more mesh tops and expect to wear them a lot this fall as layering pieces when a special sparkle is needed for an outfit.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope this outfit has inspired you to incorporate some of the new trends into your work style. As usual, please feel free to ask questions and share your outfits in the comment section. See you in my next post!
