Happy Monday, dear friends! Back to the daily grind, many start to sing that Monday blues, which reminds me of a video I saw yesterday, about how much a working mother could age in one day because all the things she had to do throughout the day, which in turn, is not much different than most of us, kids, job, family chores, etc. Even though she might be very happy with her job and love her family to pieces, the sheer volume of her work load and repetitiveness of such would tire her out by the end of the day.
Sometimes, we feel the same way about clothes — although a piece of garment is loved and cherished, we get tired of wearing it the same way, on repeat. Just like our jobs and chores, we can’t just throw them away when that happens, either, especially those that have costed us a pretty penny. ;D So what to do? Here is my suggestion: pair with new things and take a nap, ehh, that is for the work-related fatigue.
The coat I am wearing as part of today’s outfit was an old favorite, my very first Burberry coat, actually. It was my daily companion during my last pregnancy but afterwards, I got tired of it. The mental linkage with being big also kept me away. When I got the faux leather dress, I thought to myself, what could be a better coat to pair with?
Because of the color, shape and length, the coat and the dress are made for each other. For the dress is still on the shorter side for spring time, I paired with knee-length boots. Ivory and gold colored accessories work well with both garments. When the coat goes on and off, it changes the whole look and keeps the day interesting. And the best part? What was old is new again!
