Runway To Driveway :: Floral Minidress & Jacquard Vest

Hello, my friends! How was your weekend? Now that fall is in full swing, the foliage is just breath-taking. How can one even compete with this beauty of nature but merely trying to blend in? I found this time of the year, and later on when it is pale and barren, a dark-colored floral minidress would do the trick — stand out while blending in. 🙂Floral Minidress by ALC

The black silk dress with delicate flower print has double layers and mock neck, it is warm enough for mild weather like now. I added a jacquard navy vest coat and semi-sheer tights for added warmth. The subtle floral jacquard pattern of the vest compliments the prints of the dress but it is not necessary, the more important quality to look for here is that the fabric has to have some “weight” so it is more season appropriate. Dries van Noten Jacquard vest coat floral minidress in action vest coat backview

If you say this dress looks so familiar, you are not have an illusion. The style of this minidress resembles a lot of Saint Laurent Fall 2014 and Valentino Pre-Fall 2015, especially the Valentino ones, also short dresses with floral prints. To play off those vibes, I accessories the look with a butterfly collar, patent Barbie shoes and a flat-top boater hat. Voila! Here is a look inspired by runway but actually very practical to wear.flat top boater hat studded mary jane by saint laurent, Chanel Boy bag street style floral minidress

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you will be inspired to put together your own runway-to-driveway looks, please do share if you will be doing so! Until my next post!
