Hello, my dear friends! When the weather is as unpredictable as it has been in the past week, layering is a must. We love any opportunity to layer, don’t we? 😉 This time of the year, a light-weight leather jacket is probably the best way to add some warmth in the morning. Options are abundant in terms of fabric and styles: army jacket, trench, denim, tweed, blazer, fringe, and if you are into the 70’s look, a boxy suede jacket like the one I am wearing today.
My search for a 70’s inspired suede jacket started last year, as soon as I saw this Burberry Prorsum one in editorials. Got a couple of them from various brands and returned because of quality. Finally, this Mango one came in and I liked the color and the style. Cropped and boxy, this jacket offers good upper-body balance to women who are small-chested, pair with curve-hugging skirts or shorts, or wide-leg pants / culottes if you want a more relaxed look.
Short / ankle boots go hand-in-hand with shorter skirts, especially for that effortless look. If there are formulas of what look chic, ankle cowboy boots + flouncy skirts + fedora should be one of them. When the bottom is more school-girl than cowgirl, however, short chunky heel boots seemed to be a better match. I went with a patchwork denim pair because the light color is more summer and it matches the car! Kidding! 😀
Thank you so much for reading! Below are some of my spring/summer jackets as well as boots suggestions to get you going: BTW, private-sale has begun with a few major online retailers which means public sale will be coming soon, so bookmark your choices and buy in a week or so, happy browsing!
