Hello, my friends! I have been catching up with fall trend forecasts in various publications and websites, and I noticed a couple of things: turtleneck, block heel and cropped pants. None of them is news exactly, but the mix of a bit of 60’s mod, 70’s boho and a lot of 80’s disco is refreshing and very today.
The mere thought of wearing turtle necks in the 85F+ summer induces perspiration, however, let’s put it on the back burner until next month. Cropped pants, specifically, cropped wide-leg pants, aka, culottes, we can do. In today’s outfit, I mixed in two popular trends: off-shoulder top (worn here before) and the cropped pants. This top itself has defined waistline, otherwise, I’d tuck in the front to avoid looking like a cylinder because of the pants are also voluminous.
I’ve dedicated a whole blog post on culottes and the trend is getting hotter. If you have been contemplating these skirt-like pants, the time to jump on the bus is now! More choices on fabric, style and price points than ever. For you first pair, I’d try solid color in either denim (structured yet casual), or wool-blend with a good drape (polished), or leather / pleather (extra sleek).
A word about the sunglasses I wear today — it is my first pair “borrowed” from Ditto, an online sunglasses retailer where one can either rent designer and prescription sunglasses for as low as $19/month with no obligation to purchase. You know how much I like to wear sunglasses and how expensive it can get when switching often, a program like this is the BEST news! Should you be intrigued to try out their service, use code “PETITEFLOWER” to get the first month free.
Thank you so much for reading! See you in my next post!
