TGIF, amigos! One of the greatest benefit of being a freelancer (a.k.a, jobless) is movie dates during the day. Husband and I used to go out to lunch, then watch a movie before pick up the kids. There has been some slight changes in our routine since I started this blog. Now we take photos, skip lunch, then watch a movie, which was exactly what we did yesterday. 😀
Have to admit, time is such precious commodity nowadays, I rare step foot in the movie theaters. The only three movies I watched since Thanksgiving was “Gravity“, “August: Osage County” and “American Hustle“, all have multiple Oscar nominations in the major categories, what are the odds! Giving that I haven’t seen all the nominated films, my predictions might not be accurate, but I think Christian Bale and Sandra Bullock has a pretty good shot. Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, all did a terrific job, but I could still see a lot of similarities from their roles in “Silver Lining Playbook” and “The Fighter”, also directed by David Russell. Only Bale, I don’t see Batman, nor Dicky, only Irving. Since he has won any Oscar, and academy loves underdogs, I think he is going to win.
The movie we watched was over 2.5 hours long. Learning from previous experiences, loose waist and flat shoes are key to comfort. I’ve had times my feet got numb because they stayed in stilettos for too long. Those over the knee boots, also a no-no for movie-watching. ;D A long sweater, suede leggings and combat boots constituted my outfit, topped with a vintage floral tapestry coat “borrowed” from my MIL’s closet just for fun. Did I also mention another benefit of day date? You get the early bird special on tickets, hehe.
Thank you very much for reading! Treat yourself to a movie if you may, there are some great films playing in theaters right now. 🙂 See you in the next post!
