Art Of Lounging :: Abstract Prints & Front Knot

Hello, my dear friends! What do you love about weekends? iPad time! My kids would not contain their enthusiasm if you ask them. For full-time mommies/bloggers like moi, weekends means sleep-in mornings (thank you, husband) and more concentrated time to do work in the evenings. 😀

So my job is not a typical 9-5, office-bound one, everyday can be casual Friday, it can also be business Monday, or happy-hour Thursday, or party Saturday, more than less, I dress for the occasion instead of calendar. Today, I am pretending it is an off-duty day, and we are going to discuss dress for lounging.HM-7

What do you mean by dress for lounging? You’d ask, isn’t it just pajamas or his shirt but nothing else, like what the books, movies, and bloggers are telling us? Yes, if you are alone and plan to go no where; and no, if you have others around, such as young boys, and need to go places. Keep that shirt, I encourage you, he has many. However, make it your fire pit by forgo the buttoning up, knot it instead, parade your lace with pride, and oil the fire with leather choker.

Palazzo pants make it all-age appropriate, a flowy one is the most comfortable and complimentary. I picked this pair with abstract prints and cheerful colors for a bit of fun. Go with solids color if you want to keep your minimalist cool, or some floral prints if you want shabby chic, or some cartoon figures if you have that sort complex…the point is, big pants, light fabric and have fun!HM-4

The maximalist in me want to pepper it with fun shoes like this knotted slides with woodoo pin, any relaxing shoes would do I think, your beloved starchy whites, birkenstocks, flatworms, espadrilles…whateve let you spread your toes and let your feet chillax are a go with me.HM-9 HM-8

Do you have to have that hat on? Husband asked. He thought it was a rice picker hat that I got from the local Asian shopping center. No, it is a glamour hat from HM, I rolled my eyes. It shelters me from the harsh sun ( you know us Asians and our obsession with fair skin), it makes me look mysterious (hiding three quarters of my face beneath the deep rim), and it is the ultra glam bucket shape (Dior, remember), so it stays on and husband can look the other way. 😀HM-2HM-3

Thank you so much for reading! Give those pants a try, will you? See you in my next post!
