Hello, my dear friends! Once in a while, I’d write about new skin care I’ve found super useful. Even it hasn’t snowed yet, the weather has been super dry, I start to feel super tight skin around my t-zone and fine wrinkles on my cheeks after putting on makeup, not to mention dry skin around the body and extremities. What I desperate needed was skin care that could not only help prevent moisture lose, better yet, could help draw moisture from the air and keep the skin hydrated. Here are a few skin care products I’ve tested and found super positive results.
Face: Clarins Hyrda Essentiel
Last time I used anything from Clarins was the body cream for preventing stretch marks, never thought too much about their face cream so when I tried the Hydra Essential, I was very happily surprised. The cream actually felt very cool on the skin, it gives the sensation similar to drinking a cup of ice water. My guess is that’s the effect of the organic leaf of life extract, which supposed to enhance the skin’s ability to retain moisture.
The serum feels less “cold” but it is equally moisturizing. I use it before the face cream most of the time, but when I feel the need to “touch up” on moisture, I also tap a few drops of it onto my face.
So far, I am pretty happy with the results, my skin felt soft and plum after use. No noticeable fine wrinkled after applying foundation and powder, so that is a win for me. ^^
This one came to me during last fashion week as part of beauty sample provided by Atritaum. I heard about Laneige beauty products’ popularity in Asia but never actually used any until now. This lip balm is the bomb! I’ve been using it since September, it heals my lips at night but I also use it as a base before applying lipstick and it works magically!
Adore the little pink silicon applicator, making applying so easy. The balm is tasteless and has a slight floral smell. Highly recommend if dry, cracked lips is your beauty concern.
Who knew Jo Malone makes body butter? I seldom use fragranced body lotion because usually, they are not rich enough for my dry skin. I prefer thick balms high in shea butter. When the salesperson recommended this body butter to me, I was like “thank you but don’t do fragrance lotion”, this one has no fragrance additives, he said. I tried the butter and the rest is history. Best use is after shower when the body is slight damp because the butter is super rich, it helps to lock in moisture but you have to have moisture to begin with. A big plus is the nature good smell of coconut butter, a key ingredient, the boys love it, it smells warm & “yummy”.
That is all for the latest beauty update. I hope you give these products a try, especial the Clarins ones (both are inexpensive) and the lip balm. Let me know how you like them if you decide to try. See you in my next post!
Special thanks to Clarins for partnering with this post!
