Hello, dear friends! Life is never strictly black and white, but our outfits can. ^^ In the past, I’ve worn several all white outfits in the winter time, and we’ve established that wearing white in the colder months is not only acceptable, but also fashionable. Today’s look is yet another take on winter white but with more casual vibes. This look came to me when I was browsing a past issue of Vogue Paris, in which I saw an editorial on menswear-inspired looks featuring long tweed coats, wide-leg pants and shinny oxfords. Although the editorial was from almost a year ago, some of the styles looked very current. One of them appealed to me especially because of the white sailor pants of the set is very close to the pair I have.
We are more willing to try a look when it contains something we already have, don’t you agree? Wide-leg white pants, check; white sweater, check; black coat, check…the outfit was set even before I started thinking…I guess we can call this one of those “no-brainers” look. 😀
In fact, most black and white looks are “no-brainer” looks as long as one stick to just these two colors and stay away from patterns. Add a pop of color with accessories if you feel playful, however, it is almost a predictable move. Influenced by the editorial, I decided to keep the look rather “manly” and wore a chambray shirt underneath the sweater instead. Style of my shoe is also very gender neutral, and they are not platform highheels so I still get a hint of effortless look through the slouchiness of the hem falling over shoes.
Why the silver bag? Any structured bag would do, I think. I picked this one because of the masculine shape, and the matte silver picks up nicely that of the buttons on my pants.
Thank you so much for reading! See you in my next post!
