Work Attire :: Oversized Blazer & Sky High Heels

Hello everyone! It feels like a whole week has lapsed since I last posted but it is only three days. 🙂

Remember I mentioned that I was working on a project? Well, for the past two days, I’ve been working feverishly on getting it wrapped up and ready to sail. Earlier this year, I’ve decided to quit my 9-5 job and start a small business with my friend Wen. I am blessed to have a partner like Wen, who is super talented and visionary. Over the past few months, we have been working on concepts, designs, sourcing and visualizing our website. It is getting real close to be finished. A couple of weeks ago, I went up to New York to assist Wen photographing our merchandise on models.

We scouted out the location first then returned the following day to do the actual photo shoot. We could plan all we want, we couldn’t control the weather. It got very cold that day, high in the low 40’s, I believe. Our model, who is a musician from Hungary, started to play her cello after the third outfit change. Part of it was our idea, part of it was she had to — playing music helped her forgetting the cold while sitting outdoor in a backless gown. Much to our surprise and delight, her music drew the attention of a gentleman, who turned out to be an interior designer and was participating the home furnishing showcase inside the castle behind us. We got the backstage VIP treatment, i.e. walking in through the back door without paying. It was our lucky day!

Years from now, while looking back, I am sure we will be laughing at our “roughness” today. This photo session, will be one that is hard to forget. The following pictures are all taken by the talented & beautiful Wen:

And a big “Thank You” to Wen for taking all these beautiful pictures. I wish I could post more but we have to reserve those for our website. ;D See you in two days!

Hi Melody! I bought this particular sweater from Yoox a couple of years ago, you might want to check the site out to see if there are other similar ones.

As we take more modeling photos of our merchandise, we will post them either on the company’s web site or style blog.

What a story about the interior background, I loved it. Is the necklace you wore also for the website? You wore it perfectly.

Thank you, MuMu, it sure was one of a kind experience. 🙂 Yes, the necklaces are part of our web store offerings.
