Festive Red

Hello, my dear friends! East or west, red is a commonly used color to resemble love and happiness. My favorite color combo for festive times, is red and gold. When Clarins introduced this brilliant combination of beautiful, true red lipstick and hydrating lip oil in golden shimmer, I was first in line to test drive it. As you can see in today’s post, the resulting effect is quite impressive.

The lipstick itself is very light, super easy to spread on. I didn’t find it is necessary to apply with a lip brush. It does bleed a little, however, so if you want the perfect red lip that stay perfect for a few hours, I’d recommend line the lips with lip pencil first before apply the lip stick. It is a makeup artist’s secret weapon for creating no-bleeding perfect lips.

The next step then is glazing with the lip gloss with golden shimmer. This gloss by Clarins is actually a lip oil, it is very moisturizing and does not dry out quickly like the typical gloss.  I also like the flat and wide applicator especially, it makes application super easy and precise.

Viola! Perfect red puckers with just the right amount of golden shimmer! Now bring on the parties! If you go with the lipstick sans lip oil, you also get beautiful red lips for everyday. It is winter, and the holidays, why not a good, bright red? It is the color of happiness. ^^
