Summer Skin Cleaning
Hello, my dear friends! Here we are, second week in August, many say summer is more than half over, but for folks live near the south, summer is just getting into its full swing! We are experiencing very high humidity and daily thunderstorms. My skin gets oily and clogged more than it does during dry days. Sweaty weather is certainly not my (skin's) friend!
Days like this, my usual foam facial wash is not cutting it, I found my pore clogged and I got breakouts (argh). I need cleanser that are powerful, preferably with some exfoliating benefits, yet still gentle. As you might know, I've been working with Clarins for the past year and half, my latest discovery with this French all natural household beauty brand is literarily saving my skin these days. By that I mean the power duo of Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser with Orange Extract & Clarins Toning Lotion with Camomile. The two are just as simple (& functional) as their name reveals, orange extract (rich in vC) refreshes and renews radiance with camomile and Linden extract to purify and sooth.
I use the facial wash at night but sometimes I also use it around my nose to help clean the pores in the morning. The toner, one of the best I've used, is really gentle and effective. I am amazed how much stuff it can still lift after I wipe my face with wipes then wash with the cleanser! It is alcohol-free so it doesn't dry out the skin at all. And it feel kind of refreshing when applied with a cotton pad. I am not surprised to read all the positive feedback son this one. For $26 / bottle, I consider it is a great value.
Beauty routine is part of our life style, IMHO, like diet and exercise. It's not necessary for us to stick with one particular product at all times, we tweak and adjust as needed. For the kind of high-humidity summer days we have, I feel lucky that I got the Clarins cleansing duo just in time. I might alternate between the orange exfoliating cleanser and a cream one late when we transition to fall, but I suspect the toning lotion is going to be on permanent rotation.
